What electronic devices and physical objects might affect my wireless (Wi-Fi) performance?
As with any radio signal, there are a number of “environmental” factors that can adversely affect your wireless connection.
To get the best out of your wireless Broadband connection, consider the following when choosing where to put your modem:
- Place the modem up high – use a wall bracket or a wooden shelf.
- Avoid placing large metal objects between your modem and your computers
- Avoid having large volumes of water, such as a fish tank or a swimming pool, between your modem and computers.
- Try to place your modem away from other electromagnetic devices, including TVs, radios, cordless phones and microwaves. We recommend that you change the channel on your cordless phone to avoid interference.
- Don’t have too many high-density floors and walls between your modem and your computers.
